features special guests.

Subcomandante Insurgente Marcos, the pipe smoking, mask wearing de facto spokesman for the Zapatista Army of National Liberation in Mexico, will be coming to Pittsburgh this fall as a guest lecturer for the school’s new Global Econ 101 course.
“Marcos, an outspoken opponent of globalization, is a controversial figure,” said school spokesperson Delilah Cooke. “We feel that whatever side you’re on, he adds an important dimension to the debate.”
The course discusses how globalization effects not just farmers in third world countries, but regular working people all over the United States: It puts the U.S. workforce in direct competition with foreign workers, shrinks the American tax base, and drives down the standard of living internationally.
